Home Lodge of the Past Grand Master of Georgia
Jan had a lifelong interest in Freemasonry, but working and raising a family always seemed to get in the way of petitioning a lodge. Noticing a Masonic ring on a Brother at church prompted him to ask the magic question. A petition was obtained and his Masonic journey began. Jan was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in January 2005 and quickly became an active member of the Lodge serving as Worshipful Master in 2009. Soon after leaving the East he was appointed as District Deputy to the Grand Master. He served in that capacity until he was appointed by F. Andrew “Drew” Lane, Jr. to be the Third Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge in 2012.

He is Past Master of the Cobb County Masonic Convention, a past High Priest RAM, past Illustrious Master R&SM, past Commander Knights Templar, past Seventh District High Priest and District Illustrious Master. He is a member of the Knights of the York Cross of Honor, Knights Masons, Red Cross of Constantine, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, York Rite College, Georgia Lodge of Research, SRICF, and Allied Masonic Degrees. He received his Scottish Rite degrees in 2006, was made KCCH in 2013, and coroneted a 33 degree in 2019. He has served with the stage crew since 2008, VMAP Chairman and a member of the Valley Executive Committee and is now the Venerable Master of the Chapter Rose Croix. Past President of the Cobb County Scottish Rite Association. A member of Yaarab Shrine, Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club, and the Knights of MECCA.
Our Brother feels he has found his purpose in the Brotherhood of Freemasonry and never imagined that there was the slightest chance of ever being Grand Master of Masons in Georgia. Jan looks forward to many more years of service to the craft.
